A massive fire erupted at a gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat, on Saturday evening, claiming the lives of at least twenty-four people. Multiple fire tenders were rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze, and rescue operations are ongoing.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief at the incident and offered condolences to the families of the deceased. He also directed the local administration to provide all possible assistance to those affected.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced compensation of ₹4 lakh to the families of the deceased and ₹50 thousand to the injured. He also ordered the municipal corporation and the administration to carry out immediate rescue and relief operations.

In a separate incident, at least ten people were killed and over 60 injured in a fire that broke out in the industrial area of Maharashtra's Dombivli on Thursday. The explosion was so severe that it shattered window panes of houses and damaged cars, roads, and electric poles in the vicinity.

The owner of the chemical factory in Dombivli has been remanded in police custody till May 29. The police have registered an FIR against the company owners, directors, management staff, and officials for culpable homicide, voluntarily causing hurt, and negligent conduct with respect to combustible matter and explosive substances.
