External affairs minister S Jaishankar accused India's first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, of losing the country's territory to Chinese aggression.
Responding to Opposition allegations that China has built a model village and encroached upon territory, Jaishankar stated that the area in question was captured by China during Nehru's tenure.
Jaishankar elaborated on two specific instances: the model village in Longju and a bridge near Pangong Tso lake, both of which China occupied in 1959 and 1962, respectively.
He further highlighted Nehru's decision to allow Shaksgam Valley to become part of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which paved the way for China to later gain control of the territory.
Jaishankar also criticized the Congress party for its double standards on China's Belt and Road Initiative, which he считает violates India's sovereignty.
He noted Rahul Gandhi's admiration for China and his failure to openly criticize the Belt and Road Initiative.
In conclusion, Jaishankar's interview sheds light on historical events and decisions that have shaped India's territorial disputes with China.
It underscores the ongoing tensions between the two countries and the need for a nuanced understanding of the geopolitical dynamics at play.
