Amit Shah Slams Farooq Abdullah's 'Pakistan Has Nukes' Remark
  • Amit Shah strongly criticized Farooq Abdullah's 'Pakistan has nuke' remarks.
  • He emphasized that PoK is an integral part of India and India's right over it.
  • Shah dismissed the idea of respecting Pakistan by giving up PoK, saying India with its large population is not afraid of any threat.

Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) chief Farooq Abdullah's remarks that Pakistan possesses nuclear weapons and that India should respect Pakistan.

Shah asserted that PoK is an inseparable part of India and that India has an inviolable right over it. He rejected the notion of respecting Pakistan by surrendering PoK, emphasizing that India, with its vast population and strength, will not be cowed down by threats.

Addressing a rally in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said, 'As far as PoK is concerned, it is not only the commitment of the BJP but also the commitment of the Parliament of the country. PoK is a part of India and we have rights over it. No one can deny that.'

Shah's remarks came in response to Abdullah's statement that India should respect Pakistan because it has nuclear weapons. Abdullah had said, 'If the defence minister is saying it then go ahead. Who are we to stop? But remember, they (Pakistan) are also not wearing bangles. It has atom bombs, and unfortunately, that atom bomb will fall on us.'

Shah strongly condemned Abdullah's remarks, saying, 'Farooq Abdullah and Congress leaders are saying that Pakistan has an atom bomb, so respect them. Will an Atomic power with a 130 cr population Bharat, be scared of someone and give up its right?'

He asserted that India is not afraid of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal and that India will not hesitate to defend its territory and sovereignty.

Shah's remarks were met with thunderous applause from the crowd. The BJP has been consistently maintaining that PoK is an integral part of India and that India is committed to reclaiming it.

The issue of PoK has been a bone of contention between India and Pakistan since the partition of the Indian subcontinent in 1947. India claims the entire territory of Jammu and Kashmir, including PoK, while Pakistan claims the northern and western parts of the region.

The two countries have fought several wars over the issue, and it remains a major source of tension between them.
