Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a scathing attack on the Congress, particularly targeting senior leader Rahul Gandhi, for its 'disruptive behaviour' in Parliament. Shah alleges that the grand old party has undergone a transformation since Gandhi's entry, leading to a significant decline in 'political standards'.
In an interview with The Indian Express, Shah expressed his dismay over the 'absence of discussion' during Parliament sessions. He lamented that controversial legislation and issues, such as Article 370 and the CAA, are not being subjected to meaningful debates, a situation he finds deeply troubling.
Shah attributes the Congress's current behaviour to Rahul Gandhi's influence, arguing that the party's standards have plummeted since his arrival. Regarding Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from Parliament over a campaign speech, Shah maintains that it is a 'court process' and that Gandhi should not receive special treatment if found guilty by the court. He notes that Gandhi was reinstated in Parliament the day after the court stayed his disqualification, highlighting that this is the law that the Congress itself brought in.
