An Air India flight with 180 passengers on board collided with a tug tractor at the Pune Airport runway on Thursday, May 16, 2023. The incident occurred as the Delhi-bound flight was taxiing for takeoff.

The collision caused damage to the aircraft's nose and a tire near the landing gear, but there were no injuries to any of the passengers or crew members. All passengers were safely disembarked from the plane following the incident.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an inquiry to determine the cause of the collision. Preliminary reports suggest that the tug truck, which is used for manoeuvring aircraft on the ground, struck the plane during the taxiing process.

The incident highlights the importance of maintaining proper safety protocols and procedures during aircraft ground operations to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
